Instagram Evaluation Essay

 Instagram is one of my most favorite mobile video, photo sharing application. It is a platform where people share their pictures and videos online with others. It is an amazing space of making and meeting new people and friends via video calls and text messages. The interesting thing is that people can share pictures of their favourite pets, food, or places.

Instagram is my choice among all the different social media platforms due to many factors. I will be addressing these factors in this evaluation essay.

Starting from the most distinguishing feature of Instagram, I can take pictures and videos and post them to Instagram so easily and quickly. I never feel the distance between me and my close people like family and friends. This feature is never limited to Instagram, as I can also share to Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp...etc.

Another related feature to the first one is that Instagram has many artistic features where you can edit the pictures and the videos you share.

Moving to the commercial side of this app, Instagram has been a very helpful way of keeping businesspersons  on track with their clients. They can also take pictures of their products that they offer and post these pictures to Instagram for a wide base of clients to see. This way, they can advertise their own products, so they gain more customers. This feature of advertising offers many options. The advertiser can choose their own audience based on sex, location, or age...etc. For example, if an advertiser offers makeup products in California, they can choose their audience of mostly young ladies in California and the places they deliver to. They can also choose the period of the advertisement. I once had a product, and I created a business page where I can share them to the people of interest.

Another thing, Instagram is a great medium of social media due to the business purpose because its method of marketing is rigid. Business owners csn get feedbacks from their customers are there is somthing called ‘insights’ where this owner is able to see how active their customers have been, and how high and  positive the  impact has been. In addition to its easy way of using. 

Business owners can also buy Instagram followers. As a result, the pictures of their products or services that they share must be professional and the messages they give to their audience must be correct, authentic and accurate.

Instagram also offers a lot of effects. I can make edit any picture I want and add a frame if I want my photo to have a frame. I   can also be updated on my friends’ happenings or important ceremonies and announcements.

One of the best  features of Instagram is its high visibility of the pictures and videos shared as a post, where every post of these pictures and videos can appear in the newsfeed of the followers. 

Hashtags are another strategic feature that enables Instagram to give an impact to the pictures and videos in any post to the new users or followers.

As for security and privacy policies, Instagram offers a very helpful privacy and security policy, as it is considered to be one of the most important advantages of Instagram. 

Like other social media platforms, it also has the age limit for its users. Only persons over 13 years old are allowed to create their own Instagram account. 

I can keep my account on Instagram private. When I do so, I ban any strangers from seeing my information and my pictures, videos, and stories I share. This feature also allows me to keep my followers and following private. I also have the ability to accept or reject follow requests.

Instagram has advantages for students as well. It provides educational benefits. I remember I was interested in photography, so it was the best way for me to learn and improve my photography skills. I started learning photo editing as well. 

Instagram is still one of the most effective ways which I follow to improve my language skill. There are thousands of pages on Instagram where they teach people language skills.

Students, including myself, share our opinions and our views on Instagram regarding different topics. This can be done by using Instagram features offered in the stories. It offers the feature of polls where people vote for specific views on certain topics. It also offers the feature questions, where I can share it to receive answers for questions I share on my story.

In conclusion, I can say that Instagram collects a wide range of advantages that I can benefit from in many fields. It is so much fun, and I recommend it to each and every one.
